Feb in Phoenix in TC recommendation?

Hi - I am hoping to spend 1-2 weeks in the Phoenix area in late Feb. I'd like to stay at a resort facility to just relax and enjoy activities/amenities and possibly scout out a future snowbird lifestyle. I'm finding that many of these type resorts don't want TCs or if they do they have a policy that they can't be dismounted from the truck.

Anybody know of a resort style park in that area that would be friendly to TCers?

Thanks...
  • We did stay in "Covered Wagon RV" last June.
Good price, clean campground. Small swimming pool, but clean showers.
Neighborhood is so-so what makes it a wonder with Bishop Cathedral and Catholic School in the block.
The biggest wonder in Phoenix is all the restaurants closing at 8PM.
The city just dies at night.
That might be due 120F heats in June, so I hope you will get better winter experience.
For snow-birding you want to go to Tucson.
  • Fiesta Grande in Casa Grande will welcome you with open arms. Lots to do including a 4 wheeler club,
    PM more more info
  • We stay at the Shadow Ridge in Ajo- about 1 hour S of Phoenix. Nice spot. Totally surrounded by desert. No pool, but in the winter in the desert it is 'cold'. Tennis and lots of hiking, bike riding.

Talk to Amy there if you have any interest. Or PM me.

Thanks for the tip. It looks like a pretty good place but in Feb they have a minimum 30 day stay not sure I want to hang around that long...
  • On my trip in the area I run into Colossal Cave campground.
Rough camp where the only utility was questionable water, but at $7 a night can't beat the scenery.
Cave is worth exploring as well.
We've been the only there at night, what was good for me, bad for my wife.
Not often you can take outside shower naked ;)

  • If you don't find an RV resort style park, you might want to check out Maricopa County Parks, or Lost Dutchman State Park.

Tell them your plans and you are scouting out the area. Ask for Beth she is the manager
  • McDowell Mountain Regional Park out of Fountain Hills is awesome. A little bit away from things but very scenic. Downtown Scottsdale does not close at eight as someone with little knowledge suggested. Fountain Hills Park is close to see the very tall fountain that shoots every hour. There's a lot to do in The Valley Of The Sun and surrounding areas.

X2. I was going to say the same thing but you beat me to it, Whazoo.
