Running the 3.73 ratio in mine. And yes I know of the feeling of wanting to do 60 over Sams Gap coming from TN. Also never understood the 50 MPH speed limit comimg through Flag Pond, but there is a trooper stationed there alot to explain it to people.:W Have also noticed NC has someone to welcome those coming into the state as they start down the mountain.
Be careful with the 5" clearance, had that same clearance once on a previous 5er, caught mine coming into a gas station on I-26 outside of I-85 interchange. Didn't look like that much of a grade going into station, but it was.
What kind of temps did you see on the tranny and oil since you had an eye on them? My tranny runs 190 or so, but I see oil 230 in cool temps and more in summer heat when pulling a grade. Just comparing trucks, not starting a bashing match for everyone.
As a warning, you might not want to drive by Skyland Ram as they have a 2014 3500 Longhorn loaded up. Since yours is starting to get high milage, you might get the fever. :B Sorry, couldn't resist.
