Firestone Airbags 2013 Silverado

Is there anyone that is using these airbags that can give me some insight on how they like or dislike them. Will be using them with a WD hitch installed. Just wanted to get some feedback before buying the kit.

Have you considered Timbrin's? They are another option to look at, and no worries about air leaks.

I have Timbrens on my 2011. No change in ride and they work as well as the air bags I had on my last truck.
  • Bubba..

Recently had some added to my Silverado... dialed in
about 40 PSI for towing (pin wt. at 2600 #'s). Performs as
expected...levels the combo, probably brings the headlights
out of sky search mode. Notably "firmer" ride, truck sits
higher (noticeable from the cab),... a little harder for the
vertically challenged Princess to get in an out of the truck...
but not significantly...just warn your S.O. as the first step
out may not be where she thinks it should be... I had not
thought thru that they would be removing the bump stops...
but understandably necessary...so, so get them / save them upon
install... as you may change your mind down the road. Have
not found the perfect "empty" PSI.... somewhere in the neighbor
hood of 10 - 14 PSI.... needs more trial and error.

Sure can dial in "level" .... not sure as to "comfort" but that
is the co-pilots realm...she'll let me know...

did not go "fancy" dual controls, monitors...etc. ,...refill
nipples located at the rear license plate.

  • I have looked at the Timbrins and thought I mite get a little more adjustment out of the bags if needed.

Had them on an earlier version. Worked just fine and easy to install. But I have to ask what you intend them to do for you? If it is to cure/help an overloaded situation all I can say is it is going to be a band aid and not a cure all. If it is to he stabilize the load, then have you also considered new shocks?

Just looking for a better ride when towing the TT. Make the truck a little more stable on the HWY. I have yet to tow my new trailer (ordered from the dealer) but am going to tow my friends TT in a few weeks that will weigh just a little more than the one I am getting (8000 max loaded will end up being 7600 real numbers). Also, I am one that if the bags will help in any way to make the ride better, I'm game. I like to find an excuse to add things like this to the new truck but want to make some kind of gain by doing it.
