Firestone Work Rite review....

I was looking for a little more support in the rear of the truck and refuse to ever use air bags again.
I liked the reviews from all the Timbren customers but was sticker shocked and they aren't adjustable.

I decided to try out the Firestone Work rites. They are adjustable and were $160 to my door.

I Installed them last week and didn't notice any ride change with an unloaded truck. Install took me 10 minutes..

I loaded the camper last night and it did exactly what I wanted. The truck is a little higher in the rear even with a full water tank and all our gear.

Now Ill be running down to the Keys this afternoon and Ill report back Monday on the ride.

  • I can't comprehend $160 for a piece of rubber with a nut molded in it.
  • I know its hard to comprehend, But the Timbrens I used on my ford worked wonders on sway, and kept rear from sagging down so bad. And its hundreds of dollars cheaper than any other method and will out last most other methods. Combine that with the 30 minute installation in my driveway and its a hard deal to beat. I don't think the Timbrens for my 12 valve will be as easy or I would already have some on it also. Im wondering if these jobs will be a better choice. The Dodge is set up different underneath.
  • They work.

Did a run down to the Keys for Easter. Its about 200 miles down from my house to Sugarloaf Key.

The truck handle much better then I was expecting, I honestly didn't think these rubber things would change much. The sway was almost gone and the truck was level. The ride was a little more controlled and the truck seemed to track better.

Now the down side. The rear is nice and solid but the front is soft and causing it to porpoise. I'm thinking the factory shocks need to be upgraded..

Here is a side picture showing the perfect stance I was looking for.

  • Timbrens do come with spacers to adjust, but these look good to when I upgraded I also put rancho 9000 all the way around It was night and day. I have a few 1000s miles with timbrens now and cant imagine not having them on the truck.
  • I just re-read this I came off wrong. I think you will be just as happy as I am. You will be with the firestone as I am with timberen
