QUOTE: "Always begs the question would GMC buyers switch to chev ?
GM seems think cancelling GMC would cost sales ,they don't add them together so neither should we."
Yes, GMC buyer will switch to Chevy ... Lifelong GM buyer here, with a few brands mixed in once or twice. When I look for a truck, I go directly to GMC and Chevy dealers, find the truck I want, and buy it. I have no real preference for one or the other ...
In March, we bought a Chevy 2500HD, Last truck was GMC, before that GMC, before that Chevy, GMC, and Chevy, and the first vehicle I ever owned was a 1950 Chevy ... Next time, will be either GMC or Chevy, depending on what's on the lots when we arrive.
IF GM ever changes anything important - other than badges - then will take a long look at the new engineering. Otherwise, will shop the same way we always shop.
Funny thing, last couple weeks, we looked at a lot of 'small SUV's for a run-around town' car, and bought? What? What? Why a GM again, although this one, a Buick Encore. Drove them all, Toyota, Subaru, Nissan, VW, Honda - nothing compared with quality finish OR price ... VW and Subaru had a bit more power, but this Encore buzzes right around with a Turbo --
