Thanks for all of the nice comments. In regards to the G56, I really like it. The clutch is very easy to operate and is smooth; the transmission is smooth and very easy shifting. I had manual transmissions in my last 2 Fords so I have no problem at all driving them. This truck is actually easier to drive with the manual transmission than my 6.0L Ford was because it has so much more low end torque. Solo I can actually drop down to about 15mph in 5th gear and not have to downshift to pick up again which the Ford would never do so it is very easy to drive in town. This combined with the exhaust brake makes for an awesome combo. 1st gear is so low I only use it while starting off with the trailer and almost immediately shift it into second. There is a very steep hill up into our regular campground after a 90 degree turn and it chugged up there in second gear towing the 12k fiver with absolutely no chugging or lugging!
In regards to it being a lot of truck for our current trailer, yes it is but you guys are correct in that we can upgrade to almost any trailer we want in the future with no issues of overloading the truck. We do plan on upgrading to a large triple or quad slide fiver at some point so it will be nice to know we are capable of doing so with this truck because we love it and intend on keeping it for a very long time. DOT here in BC is very sticky about vehicles being within their weight limits so the 14k lbs GVWR will come in very handy!
I swore I was not going to get another dark colored truck but I really like the Maximum Steel color now. It is cool how it looks so different in different light but it is also quite rare (at least for now!).
Lastly I got the call today that my mud flaps are finally in so they will go on this weekend. I will post a photo of her all done up!
