Ram 1500 Motor Trend Truck of the Year - againThe EcoDiesel V6 was of particular note.

Well now I'm confused; I was licking my chops thinking of a 2014 2500 with the 6.4L and rear air suspension...but...a half-ton would certainly meet my current needs and, wow, does a 19/28mpg diesel, 8-speed automatic, and FULL air suspension Ram 1500 ever sound tasty.This new Ram half-ton...the Ram HD lineup...the new GM twins, with new HDs on the way...Ford's Ecoboost...a Titan diesel on the way...it's an exciting time to be a truck fan.

Surprising that GM didn't win and that the Ram Turd won 2 years in a row. Guess Sergio must have bought more ads than any one else.Also love how they changed the rules so the No Guts, No Glory, Ram would win.In a recent interview with Autoblog, president and CEO of Ram Truck, Reid Bigland, noted the EcoDiesel will not show up to dealerships until March 2014, which is a little odd, because in past Motor Trend Truck of the Year competitions, they have noted that for vehicles to qualify for their award, vehicles must be on sale the first week of January.

Chevy did nothing more than beef up the 5.3. Same boring body. To make it look like they increased rear seat room all they did was move the 'B' pillar forward to make the rear egress easier. The cab is the same just a bigger back door. Not really mind blowing differences compared to having a 1/2 ton diesel in your line up. Ford will come out with something edgy in 2015, but for now GM is just polishing a turd.

Boy already a couple of poor losers :W They did kind of bend the rules this year but so did Ram putting a diesel in a 5 lugger :B

I tend to agree, unless Nissan offers a "HD" version of the Titan with chassis capabilities that justify the CTD's power.

Very good points. I honestly wouldn't mind having the smaller Cummins as a cheaper option for the HD's. I would like the payload of say a 2500 for a slide in camper with my boat in tow but I certainly don't need 400 hp and twist that is pushing the 1000 ftlb envelope to do it.

I really hate to burst your bubble, but the 1500 RAM is quite good tow vehicle. I have seen several pulling 30' lite trailers and doing very well. The coil spring suspension with the panhard bar will perform better that all of the other competitors with leaf springs. The reduction in lateral movement is the key improvement in the rear suspension. This where the sway is amplified. Many different combinations of RAM trucks and travel trailer are reporting "no sway what so ever". RV.NET crowd is just slow to recognize improvements in new vehicles.

Motor Trend bent their own rules 3x to make this POS win, and that looses all credibility.

1. TOTY must be available 1/1 - Ram will be 3/1
2. TOTY must be all new or substantially redesigned. 1 powerplant is not that (remember, 8 speed was last year)
3. TOTY has no published fuel economy, only their testing and others.

Sergio paid off for this, plain and simple. It should have been contender for 2014's award, not 2013.

Incredible as to just how bitter and petty you are....Not hard to see what hatred you have for an inanimate object....you may need to get some counseling...and your usage of acronyms to fill in for profanity seems to define most of your post.
