GMW photos and turn the page - I have heard bits about Lance suffering some growing pains. One other concern on Lance is in New England, there isn't much of a dealer network and the one local dealer that has them doesn't have a good rep. That concerns me should we need service.
My list of possible TTs: Minnie Winnie, Apex, Lance. Any others folks would like to add? We don't want to be penny wise and pound foolish and buy something just because it's less expensive or buy something with a floorplan we'll grow out of immediately.
Thanks for all the input so far.
I suspect the hardest part that a new buyer has to work thru, is trying to figure out what floorplan will work for them, beyond the first year or two. That seems to be a recurring thread, that folks buy, and then buy again in one to three years. Fine if you have the budget, but can be costly.
As the saying goes, "buy your second RV, first".
Some truth in that if you are trying to keep the costs in line. There is one fella here on the forum that advocates renting a trailer first to help you figure out what works ( or doesn't work ) for you. That's certainly one good way to do it.
Spending a lot of time looking at different trailers, and sitting in them imagining being stuck in there for multiple rainy days helped me sort out floorplans that might or might not work.
I suppose some of it too is when looking, try to curb your emotions, and just just look at it as the inanimate object it is.
Have a checklist of things that are important to you, and see if the trailer you are looking at checks all the boxes. For instance, a couple of things I wanted was tandem axles, and decent ground clearance. So even when I found trailers that had other attributes I liked, if they came up short in those two categories, I passed right on by them. Only you can say what is really important to you.
I looked at Lance, but there were construction methods I did not like and other attributes that ruled them out of the running for me. But obviously, others have them and like them.
