Your logic sounds right to me.
You could maybe offset the tongue weight by filling or emptying the water tank depending on where it's located. Other than that you'll need to move as much weight as possible to the back of the trailer.
Acura probably doesn't like WDH because it's a unibody (just a guess) and can actually damage it.
You might also try another scale. I've found that even "certified" scales are way off the mark sometimes (one said my truck weighed 8500 and another said it was 9900 - both empty. Highway weigh stations all say 7200).
The scale probably has poor accuracy at that low of weight anyway.
