Flexible Solar Panels

The part I'm having troubke with is the description of the panel as mono crystal.
Iunderstand monocrystal to be a single solid wafer of silicone photocell and not malleable.
the only malleable photocells I've seen are thinfilm. Who knows what I'm missing.
