Flooded my new Laredo

We bought a new '14 Laredo 274RB about 3 weeks ago.
Sunday night after washing it I decided to fill the fresh tank for the first time as we are going on a dry camping outing this weekend.
As I stood outside waiting for the water to come out the vent (tank full), water began pouring out under the trailer wall. I got the water shutoff and pulled the tank drain under the waterfall that was exiting the trailer.
After tearing the cover off the hoses/water pump in the bedroom, I discovered that the vent line was never connected to the vent on the outside of the trailer.
We sucked up all the water that we could. About 5 gallons from the bedroom carpet.
My question is, what are the chances the floor is going to warp or buckle once everything dries out. Fixing the hose is a 5 minute job. But I'm worried about any long term damage.

  • we had the carpet scrubber on it sucking out all the standing water within a half hour of the flood.
    Hopefully all will be ok.
  • I'd get some fans on the carpet or even pull it. The rest of the floor had surface runoff so you should be OK. OSB and plywood withstands getting wet without a problem. It's when it is immersed or has water standing on it that it becomes an issue.
  • I took pictures and reported it to the dealer.
Unfortunately they are 2 hours away from me.
I have requested a copy of the report they filed with Keystone.
Called Keystone, but I sure didn't get a warm and fuzzy that they gave s**t what my concerns are.
  • It depends on how quickly you are/were able to get the floor as dry as possible.
The warping occurs once the wood is soaked and then dries. If you kept it from getting soaked you may be OK.

I would keep the air conditioner on or a dehumidifier along with some fans pointed at the floor to help dry it out.

Hopefully you took photos of the loose ventline and had a witness to the fact that it was loose when you removed the cover for the first time. I would file a complaint with the dealer and manufacturer in writing providing details and photos. Ask the dealer to check it over to see if they feel there would be unforseen damage. Get their report in writing.

Keep notes of all conversations you have with the dealer and manufacturer. You need to build a paper trail in case it gets serious and requires legal action.
