Floooring question

I have a vinyl flooring in my trailer that is supposed to be super heavy duty. Well its not at all. I have found what I will call a couple of dents in it. Is there a way to repair this without replacing the flooring? Any suggestions would sure help. Thanks

  • I bought the trailer brand new and at that time the floor was perfect. The problem occurred about a year after purchase. What kind of sealer should I use?I am getting this unit ready to sell and I don't want this problem for the new owners.

I would guess that they are an indent in the subfloor that happened somewhere during the shipment or construction process at the factory. Other than removing the vinyl to fill those areas and reinstalling the flooring, the inject method is the only one that I've used. You need to be careful doing it as too much sealer injected can create a hump. What I've done is to estimate the amount of sealer needed (shouldn't be much), inject it underneath, and then put some weight on the area as the sealer cures (an hour or so). The sealer will fill the small hole created by the needle and, if you choose an injection point in the pattern that is unobtrusive, you won't be able to see it.

  • Does it look like someone was juggling cast iron pans or is it just a small imperfection. Small imperfections can be dealt with by using a seaming needle and adhesive. You inject the adhesive through the vinyl and raise the concave imperfection.

These tools and materials are available at flooring distributors that cater to the floor installing trade.
