floor just split out of nowhere

Went to storage yard today to make sure my camper is ok and the linoleum in front of the sofa is split from the wheel well which is under sofa all the way to the bathroom wall.

this is all part of my slide out.

do you think it got wet and expanded.
our temps 10 days ago went down to -34C or -29F then got much warmer a few days ago, above zero.

so it split a least 2 feet.
will add photo below.
  • I'm afraid to look at ours....this weather has been brutal, although, ours is in one of those portable garages, it is not heated.
  • oh you're lucky my Kodiak warranty was/is a joke ie. no warranty at all :(
  • When the floor on our Jay Feather rotted the vinyl flooring split wide open when the temps took a big drop. Jayco said they were having problems with the vinyl flooring they used in our 2007 model. When they replaced the complete floor they also used a different type of vinyl flooring. So far that is holding up, although I haven't been out too look at it since the temps. went below zero this year, I think I better go out and look at it.
  • Very common for it to do that if it freezes hard. It happens even more often to our boating brethren.
Because of this I keep my TT from freezing inside.
  • Hasn't happened to us (yet), but I understand that it's not all that uncommon for vinyl floors in extreme cold weather.

Probably not from getting wet as you asked.
  • Cold weather will make inexpensive vinyl crack and split. Unfortunately that's just the way it goes. I doubt it was moisture that caused it.
