I was looking at some fivers recently (for fun, no intent to change right now), and one brand was touting how they supply 3x20lb propane cylinders instead of 2x30lb so it is easier to pull and refill them.
Creative approach as it trades some basement room for the extra tank.
Back to the original topic - many exchange tanks have been re-certified along the way *and* painted in a way that makes it hard to see the new expiration date.
And if you're into tank trivia, the tare (empty) weight is also stamped onto the tanks so you can determine fill amounts if you have an accurate scale (and can read that stamping too)
