Only once have I had a tank refill refused because of expiration. It was twenty years old. Usually the filler does not even look at the date. The one time was new freshly trained person who was being conscientious.
Took it to the local Walmart exchange and got a full one month old tank for $18. Cheaper than paying to have it both recertified and filled.
I am considering upgrading my 7 gal tanks to 10 gal. There is room under the cover. I just need to figure out how the increased tongue weight will affect towing, readjusting the wd hitch, etc.
