I've not owned one, but from what I've read the GM IFS isn't necessarily weak and can be beefed up pretty easily. It does still suffer from the inherent flaws of IFS versus SFA in offroad situations. Of course it also offers some on-road advantages vs SFA.

I personally think IFS on a HD truck goes in the con column, but that's just my opinion.
