"$11.7M lottery winner still plowing Minnesota roads
EAST BETHEL, Minn. (KMSP) -
After winning $11.7 million dollars in the lottery, someone in Minnesota might book a trip to the Caribbean on a day like Monday, but Joe Meath is not only staying put in his snowy state, he's keeping his snow plow job.
Meath has been retired for a few years now, and plowing snow was something he decided to do mainly just to be a good neighbor. While life has changed dramatically for Meath, he proved he's still a man of his word.
Meath is one of Minnesota's newest millionaires, but you wouldn't know it by looking at his odometer – he has nearly 300,000 miles on his Chevy pickup.
Once and Xcel Energy employee, Meath got the truck used last year to take care of 10 accounts he agreed to plow this winter. 8 of them he plows for free, the other 2 he charges about $40 to take care of – he committed to the accounts before his big win.
In September, Meath cashed in on nearly $12 million after matching a Hot Lotto ticket at a Shell gas station in East Bethel.
“I don't know what I'd be doing if I wasn't doing this today,” Meath said. “It's been fun doing what we've done with the money. We bought another house, we bought a motor home, but other than that, it's been difficult with trying to figure out what to do with the money,” he said."
Several of the articles show pics of his Chevy snowplow truck.
Joe Meath is 51 years old, happily married, and loves Minnesota, his town and it's people. Lots of pages on the Internet about him, his truck, his wife, and their winnings etc. Bet he doesn't care what you losers/wannabe's think in the least because he's the real winner, $11.7 million, that's all.
Obviously, no real truck owners care what those who own a lumber wagon slug truck with a solid front axle thinks since those owners will never realize how excellent the IFS is. DUH!!! Ever see what the front suspension is on real offroad vehicles is, like the Baha racers etc? IFS always of course!!! So often it's nearly impossible to teach the un-knowledged the way things actually are because their minds are locked totally shut!
