Yep. I'm not bashing torque heavy engines, I'm pointing out that horsepower, at low or high rpm is the true measure.
I just came across a diesel fire pump engine that made 600hp at 1750rpm. That
s 1800 ft/lbs of torque. Not so much as a torque spec anywhere, it's just not relevant.
As it relates to this thread, the 2.7 will have a very torquey power band, with a balance that only gas engines (in trucks anyhow) seem to provide.
