We can, & probably will debate the relevance of hp vs torque forever without reaching a unanimous conclusion. I'm sure each proponent could make a good case for superlative importance of each with all the text book theories & classroom formulas from our college years. I, however, will take my cue from today's real world kings of the tow vehicles: semi's. They're powered by engines creating close to 2k torque while developing an anemic, by comparison, 600 hp. This massive torque is not simply a coincidental by product of hp, but is in fact meticulously engineered.
