Off hand, I would think at least every 3 months to be sure it's the right winter/summer mix?
I carry a 5 of diesel when traveling. I have only used it once, thought I had plenty of fuel to get to Yakima, WA from Oregon. My miscalculation was the last leg of the trip was nearly all 5-6 percent grades.
If I have not used it I do after arriving at my destination.
I did modify my POS "SAFE" fuel tank to be like the old school type so it will dispense fuel within my lifetime! Parts available on AMAZON.
