Where in the heck did you get that urban legend about not being able to add an aux tank on a gasser?
Go to any of the aftermarket aux. tank manufacturers and find a tank that can be legally sold for gasoline and get back to us.

Those are transfer tanks, meant to be used as a fueling station. In theory you could get out of the truck and pump into your own tank (PITA).
Aux tanks which are plumbed into the vehicles fuel system are all for diesel systems.
