Acutally, compared to engines from 1980s and back they get FAR BETTER fuel mileage than those older trucks.. PLUS they have nearly 3 times the HP too boot..
I am happy that my 6.2 in my F250 gets 15MPG when I compare that to the 1980 F350 with a 400CID engine that my Dad bought new only got 5MPG (and that was downhill with a 30MPH wind at the rear)..
Not to mention the 1980 400CID only made about 130 HP and crawled painfully at a blazing speed of 40MPH empty up a 10% grade EMPTY..
I will HAPPILY take that 15MPG AND 385 HP 6.2 ANY DAY!
