Not to start the diesel vs gas debate because that's been beat to death, and the OP obviously has made that decision, but you really have to drive differently with a gas engine. The only people I've really heard that just couldn't live with a gas TV were the ones that expected diesel like characteristics. When towing with my 6.2 F250 I proactively use the transmission for each situation. Yes, I can just put it in drive, and go, but it seems like I can get the most out of my available HP by selecting gears as I see fit, keeping the trans from unnecessary hunting. Keep in mind also that Fords adaptive computer learning is very good. What you feel in a test drive is not going to tell the whole story. Hook up a trailer, and tow for a couple hundred miles and the drivetrain will get more aggressive.
I've heard good things about Ram's 6.4 hemi as well, but I like Fords overall package better. Very comfortable, stable, ergonomic cab, seems insulated very well also. Even when the 6.2 is revving up a hill, it isn't uncomfortable at all.
