The issue is Ram doesnt offer a 10 speed. The day they do, and 12V98 owns one which will be very close to the same time, all will be better here on this forum. He knows that more gears is generally better, Ram is 4 gears short of the other two, currently. Since Ram is behind the curve in this respect, the only option for him is to discredit the guys with more gears. Its important to him that Ram leads in every aspect. So until there is gear parady, and Ram owns the IKE this will continue. Once they make runs at full capacity if Ram wins, then we will hear about Ram domination regardless of having 4 gears tied behind its bumper. If GM and or Ford beat Ram, but the win is not dominate enough (he decides what that is) then the winner (s) are not legit because the gap was too close given the gear advantage. Interesting world he lives in.
Additional gears are not as necessary with the Cummins. The Cummins has a 33% torque rise where as the Duramax has only 9% and the new Powerstroke has an 18% rise.
Thank you!
The above is from a Man I highly respect. You gonna trash him now??? - Cummins12V98Explorer III

I am saying the 8 and 10 speeds are not going to make this huge difference as seen with the GM/RAM test. I "personally" have never felt I needed a in-between gear and I tow considerably more than most of you and on big grades towing a combined 33-35k.
Sorry so many are butt hurt about "my" comments. - Cummins12V98Explorer III

So 8 minutes is the perfect time. Sorry GM guys your new multi speed truck performs no better than the heavier truck.
Nope not loosing any sleep.
RAM is next to release their 2020. I’m thinking they may bump the TQ again.
Why do you insist that if there isn’t a significant drop in time in the race up Ike (something you and virtually everyone else on here rarely if ever run) the transmission isn’t an improvement? (Other than the fact that whatever you have is the absolute BEST).
It's all the hype about the multi speed trans that does not seem to be panning out. People talk about it's because they were running the speed limit, not hardly! - ShinerBockExplorer

Yep. Not a lot of people talk about torque rise, but it is very important in driveability and one of the main reasons people say that the Cummins pulls like a train. - ShinerBockExplorer

I almost spit out my coffee on this one. This forum definitely needs a like button. - 4x4ordExplorer IIII can't believe you forgot the B&W ball cap.

The team 12V uniform now includes Cummins undies, AmZoil socks, a Ram hoodie over an Aisin T shirt! - Grit_dogNavigator II^True statement, but pursuant to ksss post, the Cummins has a smaller rpm range and more cogs would help the option and ability to pick the operating characteristics.
My G56 is a glorified 5 speed with granny gear and I can run 85-90 mph all day but she's screaming. And loaded heavy, I sometimes have to settle on a particular speed that I can pull and keep egts in check vs picking the speed I want and having a gear to accommodate it.
The low rpm range of the C will benefit greatly from more cogs. Moreso than the higher revving V8s in this respect, IMO. More IS better in this case. For everyone. - 4x4ordExplorer III
