- Me_AgainExplorer IIIThe CP4 on the GM is a better choice vs the Blue Oval as they stand behind it by honoring their warranty.

The new Bosch fuel pump seems to have much better reliability than the original version used by both Ford and GM.

...and VW, and Audi and.... - NunyadamnExplorerI just sold my 2005 Silverado 2500HD 6.6 Duramax 4x4 and bought a 2015 F250 Lariat 6.7 Powerstroke 4x4. I was initially trying to trade my old truck for a new Chevy. I test drove a few and then just kept hitting road block after road block at the Chevy dealers. I finally got fed up and at the last Chevy dealer, I walked next door and bought my new Ford. I will say that I still like the looks - inside and out - of the Chevy. I like the bells and whistles that were loaded on the SLT. I also like that they have more leather inside. My Ford looks pretty plain on the outside and it is hard to tell it from a 2014-2016. The inside has a lot of plastic, even though I have the leather option.
Now, with all that said, the powertrain on the Ford is by far better in my opinion. The pickup and towing characteristics are by far better than the Chevy. I really think it is the way the turbo feeds to the intake - see videos online. They have really short tubes as opposed to the Chevy that take a long trip around the engine to get to the turbo. There is really no lag, and that makes a huge difference.
As for problems - I had a pretty good size oil leak at 100 miles - the turbo was leaking. Now at just above 4000 miles, I am getting a message on the dash to service advancetrac and the dealer can't find anything because it doesn't throw any codes. I have a warranty, so I am not too worried about the issues. Not happy having to go to the dealer at this low of miles and time will tell if the bugs get worked out.
As far as price, I was shopping around between Chevy/Ford and can confirm the Ford was about $4-6000 less than the Chevy.
The Ford has really grown on me as I have been a Chevy guy for my whole life. - Bird_FreakExplorer IIMy buddy bought a new 2015 in Feb. of last year. Hauls rv's to dealers every where. I do the maintance. 197K miles, regular oil changes, 1 set shocks, replaced hanger bearing and did u-joints because I had shafts out. Not 1 hick up at all.
- patriotgruntExplorerI've had no issues from my '15. Lots of power and it pulls my fifth wheel effortlessly. It's also very easy to maintain with how they locate all the filters. I changed both fuel filters and the air filter in 10-15 minutes not too long ago. I'd buy again in a second if I had to.
- catfishmontanaExplorerI had a 2011 that was trouble free. Then I went back to Ram and then just a couple weeks ago I bought a new 2016 F350 dually. I mainly missed the better transmission in the ford but the new dually rides better than my 2012 ram dually did.
- BB_TXNomadI have a 2012 F350 6.7 bought new. Great truck. Tows the 5er over Colorado mountain passes with ease.
- nohurryExplorerThey are awesome trucks! I love mine. Tons of power, good mileage, trouble free so far, and very comfortable. Is the one you looked at new? As has been stated, in 2015 the turbo, and exhaust brake were improved. The 6.7 has proven to be exceptional. Major repairs to this engine have been rare, with the possible exception of the job 1 2011's. Cab off repairs? Meh, not a big deal any more. Ford shops are set up for it, the truck is designed to acomidate it, and the techs are trained. It was (Is), much more common on the previous generation of Navistar engines trucks. If your the type of person that likes to not have to worry, then an extended warranty, and MBI are your friends.
I know the other brands make good trucks as well, so if your so inclined, check em out, but you asked about the Ford, and I can tell you that Ford trucks have always been good to me. Good luck, and keep us posted. - agesilausExplorer IIIWE have 73K miles on ours and it has been basically trouble free
