It's the reactions to posts that gets threads closed down. Does anyone practice restraint or does everyone have their thoughts flowing unfiltered to their keyboards? Some of the responses look like hormonal imbalances or reflex actions with no thought behind them.

Dang , I hope I don't fall into that category... I just say it how I see it from MY experience... Quite Frankly , these truck threads have always lived up to their reputation...- Bird_FreakExplorer II

How many miles do you suggest he waits before saying he has a Great truck? As I posted earlier my buddys 2015 already has 197K and has no problems other than regular upkeep.:hpatriotgrunt wrote:

I would suggest you do some reading on the Powerstroke diesel forums. Yesterday I pulled up next to a F-550 garbage roll off container truck at a traffic light. I didn't pay much attention to the truck at first and judging by the noise it was making I assumed it was a 6.0L diesel. The light turned out to be especially long so I glanced over and was shocked to see it was a newer F-550 with a 6.7L diesel. When he took off the noise decreased but was definitely still there. It sounded like severe top end noise like lifters, etc.
I Googled the issue later and found out it is a very common issue that Ford considers normal. Buyer beware and this is coming from one that owned 3 Fords over the last 20 years including a 7.3L and 6.0L diesel.
iMO there are much better diesel options out there.
Wow! You must be an amazing mechanic. You identified an issue on a truck that you don't own based on noise you heard at a stop light. Let 6.7 PS owners answer the OP's question since we actually have everyday experience. BTW, I've owned both and I'm actually having less issues with my PS than I did with my Cummins.
LOL, you guys crack me up. I have a considerable amount of diesel engine experience both personally and professionally. I was one of the lucky ones who got to experience a Ford 6.0L diesel and let me tell you that one learns a lot about trying to prevent disasters and then dealing with repairs as they come up. Hence why you see the truck in my signature.
If you had heard the 6.7L Ford I spoke of in my original post and have ANY reasonable experience with diesel engines, you would have known there was something SERIOUSLY wrong with the truck. And it is not something that is going to go away. The 6.7L Ford is MUCH better than the 6.0L and 6.4L engines but it still has some flaws (some very serious) that the OP should know about.
I'm truly happy to hear that you're happy with your Ford; but given that it's a 2015 I would suggest that you give it some more time and mileage to state that it is a great truck.
I think the OP would be better off keeping the GM 8.1L quite honestly. - Me_AgainExplorer III

As usual you have the 3 biggest Ford bashers doing their thing on every Ford post. Nothing new here.
Dang it - I thought I was in the top three. - nohurryExplorerI think the OP is already driving a new Chebby and just started this thread to sit back and watch the fun. Aaaaand, obviously it worked.

- Me_AgainExplorer III"The Ford shop has 2 diesel techs to the rams 3 diesel techs. Must be for a reason." That RAM shop might be selling two or three times the number of HD trucks? Maybe the Blue Oval Koolaid drinkers in that area have given up on Ford?
REALLY, they are all much better that earlier models, but Fish's constant bashing of one brand gets pretty old and gets threads closed repeatedly. - 1jeepExplorer IIOP...I owned a 2011 6.7 turned over 110k miles, in that time I did have one issue which was a oil leak at a line that was replaced under warranty. Aside form that oil/filter every 5k miles and fuel filters 10k miles, truck never missed a beat. I would still have it but being it was a 3/4 ton I needed more cargo capacity so I bought a 1ton DRW ford. I did shop all 3 brands and will say the gmc denali was nice inside, I bought a platinum edition ford so it does have nicer leather and such...I would have bought the gmc but the deal wasn't there.
Buy the ford, gm or whatever brand its your choice, I don't think any of them are bad like in the 80's! - IdaDExplorer
