My diesel mechanic told me to keep my 6.0 and bullet-proof it when the head gaskets failed at 196,000 miles. He knows the 6.4 and 6.7s are more difficult and expensive to repair, and he loves his personal 2004 F350. So, I spent $10k rather than $60k plus for a newer truck.
