To the OP: I don't think this is your current problem, but...
Look under the hood at the top of your driver's side inner fender well. There's a little black plastic square with battery cables coming out of both sides. That's an important junction block that tends to corrode and fail. Eventually, vibration will knock the connections loose and cause a nearly endless variety of symptoms that you will drive yourself nuts tracking down. Pull the top cover off of that junction block and give it a thorough inspection. The part is only $25 from a Ford dealer if you need one.
