Ford Diesel 6.0 really that bad?
I know there is some issues with 6.0, but is it really that bad? Is there something I can do to check or to correct the problem? I was hoping to stay away from heavy duty truck as I really don't need ...

My buddy has a 03', he has had to replace the injectors, which is pricey but other than that it has been pretty good to him. The engines have a dismal reputation and rightfully so but on the plus side, they tow good and because of their reputation can be picked up at very good prices and often times with fairly low miles and that leaves money available to bulletproof them, which is what they should have been in the first place...:(. I have come across a few myself in very clean trucks that really tempted me but in the end I just decided that I didn't want to chance or deal with it.
