FORD DULLY QUESTION????

a 2000 Ford F350 7.3 dully diesel, 87,000 miles, is the 7.3 engine the good engine or the bad one that they came out with? i believe it was in the early 2000's when they changed engines and they were not so good. but not sure what year.

Early model year 2003 still had the 7.3. A great engine. Later 2003 thru 2007 had the 6.0. That was the one with the bad reputation. Although my 2007 6.0 was a great truck with no problems.

It's the Ford 6.0 you should avoid.

It runs great again after I put $8,000 into it. Nothing money can't fix.

7.3 isn't a powerhouse but that is the good one. I have one as well. It's a 250K engine with regular maintenance.

87K is just broke in.
