AFAIK, most states that people think require towing mirrors when towing actually state what you must see in your mirrors and that is straight down the trailer box sides. With my Explorer, couldn't do that. The added width of the F150 does allow me to see straight down my trailer sides with the outer 80% of the standard mirrors.
MI Law requires you to see BEHIND the trailer. I don't recall the exact distance, but think it's 200'. that 200' seems to be a common distance according to AAA Summary
