Ford F-150 towing mirror size?

Been looking at getting the factory towing mirrors since I first considered buying an F150.
Pricing on the aftermarket copies is down in the $200-250 range.
My TT is a "narrow" version and the standard truck mirrors work to see pretty much straight down the TT sides. BUT being able to see more is always better ;)
Anyways, being too lazy to run out to a Ford dealer right now, anybody with a 2019 F150 with towing mirrors care to measure the mirror sizes and distance from the window for me, please?
  • Rear video camera mounted on the would solve and satiate state requirements

Since no one has as of yet I can measure mine when I get home...Do you have any specific measurements would you like?

You're required in several states to have extension mirrors while towing. I have bolt on attachments for my F150. Need to look into getting the extending mirrors put on the truck.

AFAIK, most states that people think require towing mirrors when towing actually state what you must see in your mirrors and that is straight down the trailer box sides. With my Explorer, couldn't do that. The added width of the F150 does allow me to see straight down my trailer sides with the outer 80% of the standard mirrors.

MI Law requires you to see BEHIND the trailer. I don't recall the exact distance, but think it's 200'. that 200' seems to be a common distance according to AAA Summary

I think Ford has the best towing mirrors. My Donkey ear mirrors are as functional but they look kind of stupid.

My SIL has a 2500 ram. I like those mirrors. You have the option to just pull them out or pull them out and rotate them 90 degrees. Maybe not the best style but extremely functional.

  • I love love love my 2018 F-150 towing mirrors. Would never get an F-150 without them. They are one of the reasons I ordered my truck.
  • I am a bit disappointed with mine. The passenger side main mirror is not convex so it has a surprisingly small field of view. The wide mirror below it is so convex that most things are too small. The mirrors themselves are huge so they catch a lot of wind and are view obstructions. I would like to try a truck with the standard mirrors for comparison but I am not going to trade trucks anyway so there is no real point in doing that.

Much bigger. That means taller & wider, and the ability to telescope. Also, much noisier if you buy the cheap aftermarket ones. The Ford ones are stupid expensive, but I have heard good things about 1AAuto.com, so you may try there. In my opinion, they are worth the extra coin and wind noise.
