Ford F150 3.7 L V6
I may be looking at one of these trucks. In a super crew 2 wheel drive configuration. It has 3.73 rear axle ratio. And a tow rating around 6000 pounds. This little motor has more power than my 97 F150...

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I am confident that this motor would more than meet our needs in a truck. The more I read about it the more I like it. The rear axle is the same, the transmission is the same as the trucks with the other motors. The brakes and chassis is the same. The 3.7 should have a bit more payload since the motor is lighter. The 7000 rpm redline will take some getting use to but that should sound really sweet under load.
With this much power from a V6 I am confident that a large pup would be more than a perfect match.
I'm surprised more of these are not being used for lighter weight loads. However, at least from my vehicle searches, there have been a ton of these trucks sold with the 3.7.
