Ford F150 3.7 L V6
I may be looking at one of these trucks. In a super crew 2 wheel drive configuration. It has 3.73 rear axle ratio. And a tow rating around 6000 pounds. This little motor has more power than my 97 F150...

If you are shopping new, check out the 2014 GM Silverado and Sierra with the 4.3 V6. They have AFM, so it runs as a 4cyl. At low, consistent speeds, it went into V4 mode. I averaged 22 mpg with that truck. I also towed the max (and maybe over). It had plenty of power.
There are currently several incentives. Strongly suggest you take a look if shopping new.
Very interesting. I just read up on the 4.3. It has 285 hp and 305 lb ft of torque. Thanks for the tip! We were looking used but under the right conditions new may work out! It still has more HP than my old 5.4 and nearly as much tq.
