Btw, economics was not the primary reason for my purchase of a diesel.
For the record, I did not give the answer. I only pointed direction how to get the correct one.
Obviously there is much more than economy for engine choice. I value the fact that I don't get wet back looking for gas station 200 miles since last fill up.
But on the long run it all boils to economy.
When my oldest son was in college, I offer him diesel Mercedes.
He declined saying "Mercedes is for old people" and bought sport car instead.
But a year later he come home for Christmas and wanted to take his HS friends for some area cruising. So did he took his sport car? Nope > he ask me for permission to drive diesel instead. On Saturday night he put 270 miles on it. Still car had more than 1/2 tank left.
