Your 2009 F-450 should have a 6.4 in it. Ford stopped the 6.0 in 2008. Have you checked the VIN # to see what engine it has. The 6.0 should get around 10 to 13 MPG pulling a trailer. The 6.4 should get a little more.
I have a 2008 28ft E-450 class C motorhome with the 6.0 and I get about 13 to 13.5 MPG. and 12.5 pulling a toad.
