I agree that hopefully it's just an exercise, but they will probably work with the leading manufactures of these products and simulate their designs and tooling in which I don't think will take too long.
More is the point they will be using 3D Printing to actually make the Ventilators. Factor in many CPAP companies can make the masks and Ventilators as well
