I have a F350 with the tow prep package in an 8 ft bed. I'd like to get a hitch from Ford. On their accessories web page they offer 2 hitches. The one rated for 27.5k GTWR is $200 cheaper than the hit...

Compare them side by side, your concerns will disappear. B&W rates the whole system as in pucks they are attached to. They don't rate the GM or Ford attachment system as high as the RAM's.
