Actually a Diesel in a 3/4 ton 4x4 depending on cab type and bed length can net you a pretty dismal available cargo weight negating any hauling bonus that it may bring.. so you really have to do your homework before committing to a Diesel. Not to mention, modern Diesels with all the EPA required smog stuff are not getting the mileage that they used to enjoy..
