I'm guessing Ford has been keeping an eye on the success of GM's compact trucks, and the case for bringing back the Ranger will be easier if it's based on an existing platform, which really could only be the global ranger for a BOF.
Yeah, I don't know how many times I have heard that the Bronco was coming back. Seems like that rumor pops up every now and then, but in the end they were all just rumors.
I know one thing is for sure. If Ford does bring back the Ranger then they will definitely have to modify it for the US market. One being the frame to accommodate the LWB trucks that are popular here in these small trucks. GM had to do the same when they brought the Holden Colorado here since they don't offer a LWB globally.
