Ford rims: srw VS drw

Quick question. Bought 4 new rims and snow tires (18") last fall for our then '15 F350 srw. Traded that truck in for the '17 drw w/ 17" tires. Will the rims/tires for the '15 fit the '17 if I singled them out for the winter? Or is the bolt pattern offset off just enough that they won't?

  • Okay guys, maybe it's just me! I personally would not take a near new DRW truck, and change all the wheels, just to make it more winter worthy. If the snow/ice gets to be too much for the DRW, I'd just leave it parked. I've owned new trucks/cars most of my adult life. If I needed a second truck, or Winter car, I just bought one, to be sold when I was done with it.

I know Cummins has more than one truck, that could be used for Winter, rather than mess with his DRW.

I'd sell the 18" tires/wheels, should be lots of interested buyers.

If I understand he wants to remove his 6 tires/wheels on the DRW and install the 4 tires/wheels from the SRW for the winter. As long as nothing rubs what is the problem???

That's exactly what I want to do, but am unsure if the rims from the srw tires will fit/work on the drw. I don't care how it looks for the winter, but just hate the thought of having to get new rims/tires when the time comes for the drw for winter use. Otherwise, will have to sell the rims/tires I got last year and may have a party interested if I do. Would rather keep/use them myself if they'd all work.

  • Quick answer. Sell the 18s and buy some used 17 dually wheels and tires from craigslist with at least all terrain tires on them. I wouldn't hinky up a brand new truck over a few dollars.
