Good motor in general. Biggest issues known are the 2011 run of super duties having issues with the passenger side valve train (some of the motors would drop the valves on the passenger side). Also an on-going issue with radiator quality (similar issues since the 6.4 Diesel motor in the 2008 super duty) where it seems there's an abnormal number of them reporting failure.
Need to make sure you stay on top of fuel filter maintenance (drain periodically, use only filters in spec which I believe is Motorcraft for Ford), as all modern diesels that sport the Bosch CP4 pump are known to be delicate (Other diesels with this fuel pump are the Duramax, all TDI motors from the VW auto group, and Ecodiesel. I am unsure if the Chevy diesels in the Cruze and Colorado use this same pump at this moment). In 2015, there was significant changes made to the CP4.2 pump for the Super Duty, hopefully adding robustness to the fueling system. Some members implied running changes made prior, but I never found documentation on that information.
