The drain fitting location on my fresh water tank is in the end of the tank about 3/4 to 1 inch up from the bottom. The pump pickup fitting is also located in the same way. This is a 60 gal. tank that measurers 7 by 34 by 64. I cannot drain or pump the last 1 inch of water in the bottom of the tank. I think this amounts to about 7 gals. Have you ever put a low point drain in the bottom of a polypropylene tank in order to drain all the water out? It seems that this may be difficult to do.

I have never put a drain in, I have parked my MH on a severe angle so that all or most of the water has flowed to the drain. You would get most of the water out by doing it this way. JMO

Do the same W/ TC, just lower the drain area as low as you can.

Mine is the same way. I think most of them are. Doesn't make any sense to me why they do it that way. They should all run out the bottom IMO.

I run mine up on boards on one side (curb side) before winterizing to drain as much as possible. It gets it up around 3".

Your mods are very impressive especially the work on the FW tank. I cannot believe the manufacturer did not put any supports under the tank.I'm sure your work will keep that tank from eventually falling off....

it is the fresh water tank. It is hung under the floor of the tt. No way to get to the top without removing it. I have an idea now after the help from you guys that I can get a fitting put in without it leaking. Thanks again.

I though you were asking about the fresh water tank not the gray water tank.

If its the fresh water tank and you have access to it , (like under the couch etc) ..... I cut a 6" hole in the top of it to install a marine inspection port
This allows you to reach inside and soak up remaining water with a sponge or use a small marine bilge pump . It also allows you to clean the entire inside of the tank.

Actually it would be quite easy to add a bottom port to any fresh water holding tank using a self sealing fitting such as this from Specialty Recreation.

That is a unique looking fitting. I wonder how well it works? With the "O" ring, it should work great. It sure would make an easy fix to the problem.

My underside is open and there is definitely no drain in the bottom of the tank. I thought maybe someone had come up with a different way of installing a drain but I guess not. Can you see the entire bottom of the tank? Perhaps there is a plug somewhere.

There are companies in Indiana that can spin weld a fitting into the tank if it is the white poly type. Maybe a plastics fab shop in your area can do it. Only the black ABS can accept a cemented fittings but they are rarely used for fresh water.
