Low cooling when on gas is usually a too low flame. Should be about 2 inches high at the tip and reach up into the stack.
I also brushed the burner holes with alcohol and the toothbrush. I could not figure out how to get the burner out. There is one of three screws that holds it in, and it is blocked by the thermocouple. The thermocouple would not slide out due to the gas valve. I could not get a wrench on the nut that removes the gas valve from the burner bracket. It was a vicious cycle!
Anyway, the flame is much larger now. It does go up into the burner quite a bit. It is probably close to 2" tall now. It did not do that before. It was smaller.
I left the fridge on all night, with the heat set on 70 in the camper. It is cool this morning (47*F), but the fridge is 34*. It would only do about 50* this weekend. So that's a big improvement.
I'm going to leave it on today since the temps are supposed to get up to around 72. I'll see how it performs.
I would still like to get the burner out and clean out any rust that has fallen through the holes. Compressed air is a possibility, too. I may tinker this weekend.
