Fridge and propane

How quickly does at typical RV fridge go through propane
  • This unit looks like a 6 cu foot RV fridge in a housing and the specs say 1.1lb/24 hours so 2+ weeks on a 20lb cylinder.
  • Been asked many times. It uses so little that I don't think anyone has ever come up with a definitive answer.

What size of fridge? - 2, 4, 6, 8 cu ft?? What type of fridge - a manual light with a flame that burns 24/7 or a DSI fridge that only burns a flame as necessary? :h
  • A long time..... I ran mine on a trip all day, plugged into shore power at night. If I had to take a guesstimate on mine, I would think 24/7 would be at least 2 weeks? Of course, what size tank you have will make a difference. I currently have a 20# tank.
  • From my understanding, very slowly. When operating the flame is basically like a pilot light.
