Hey, nothing wrong with a little DIY. The video linked to shows a very complete job of it.
I have people that hire me to change light bulbs and other small tasks that would have been done by the owner in years previous. I come home some afternoons shaking my head and wondering what's the future going to be like when a man is no longer capable of wielding a screwdriver or a hammer.
I agree. I've rebuild motors, transmissions, rear ends.....build sheds, put up lots of barbed wire fences......welded up car frames and trailer hitches, I like doing stuff myself, its the best way to learn.
If I can't fix a front end on something as simple as a camper, something is wrong with me.
There you go. If you think the time and effort is worth it, who's to say different? I've fixed/repaired lots of things most people wouldn't touch.
Good luck and hopefully, good camping.
