- ACZLExplorerAlum body = $$$ to repair (Edmunds did a test on it w/ a 2015 F150). Am guessing the tailights used in the F150 may be the same used in the SD line w/ the sensors/cameras. Almost $900.00 each and it's 1 piece!!! Again, Edmunds test.

What is the 6.8 liter engine? Is that the V-10? I thought they got rid of that engine. Pretty cool if its still available.
The V10 has never disappeared but since 2011 has only been offered in the 450/550/650 chassis cabs.
It's not available in any of the pickups or the 350 chassis cab. The 6.2 is the only gasser in the 350 chassis cab.
There have been a few nonofficial Ford internet articles that say the V10 is a 3rd engine option for the 250/350. There has been nothing from Ford on that.
Here is an article about the F250. You really have to question the credibility of the knowledge that went into it. They have a picture of a 350 dually calling it a 250.

I personally believe the 6.8 should be the only gas offering in a HD Ford pick up! Not because I own one, but because it was bulletproof, got decent mileage for what it is! And most of all you get great performance without the possibility of a $10k fuel system repair!!!
The V10 is a dog. I'll take a 6.2 or a 6.7 any day. Heck I seen a f150 3.5 EB out tow a V10 it wasn't even close. plus the V10 can't pass a gas station
I don't know; the V10 has always been a pretty strong performer, especially the 3 valve version. We have several of them at work and they do really well in heavily loaded service vehicles. And they are pretty much bulletproof. - Bionic_ManExplorerIs it just me, or does it look like they lowered the height of the sides of the bed?
For those of you complaining about the increased power of the engines and want more MPG, read the article. It says both power and economy will be increased. This is a theme of all the diesel trucks that use DEF. - spoon059Explorer II

I've never driven either of those engines, so I can't speak from personal experience...
I have never read a thread about the V10 having any problems. They seem to be great engines with tons of power that just like to work. They like to drink, but that's the price of playing poker.
The 6.2 seems to be a really good engine too. Its more fuel efficient and makes good power numbers. When I was looking to buy my current truck, I was looking at Ford and Ram gas engine trucks. The 6.2 was highly rated by those that owned them. I know the diesel is the more popular engine, especially in towing forums, but the 6.2 gas engine seems plenty stout. Buying new, you can buy a LOT of gas for that $6000 diesel upgrade price!
I lucked out and found a used 2015 Cummins for about what I was looking to pay for a new gas, or else I could very easily be talking about my new Ford 6.2 truck! - blofgrenExplorer

2006-2009 models, yes. 2010 plus models, definitely not!
I would post a photo if it wasn't such a PITA. dodge guy wrote:
