On that subject they are on my bucket list for a couple reasons. Li-Iron (not Ion) are lightweight (about 1/2 the weight of a flooded cell or AGM), can be installed anywhere because they need no venting and are basically solid state so the work just fine in any position, even inverted, unlike a flooded cell or AGM, you can draw them down to no charge whatsoever (they are claimed to hold 12 volt output to basically dead) and they have no memory plus they can be charged with a conventional RV converter, solar or both.
The drawback is price. A Group 27 retails for about $800.00. I suspect the price will fall as technology advances but for now, a pair would be 1600 bucks and that is a wad for 2 batteries in my view.
When my Trojans expire I will probably bite the bullet and get at least one, possibly a pair. Maybe by then the price will get a bit more reasonable.
