Those plastic CPVC valves are notorious for poor quality. They are barely better than a plastic irrigation valve (in fact, probably less durable).
The LED marker fixture may have a universal lens attachment. Try flipping the lens and see if it clips on correctly.
Count your blessings if these are the only two repair items you've had in four years. Many have it a lot worse.
