A second battery may be cheaper and easier to install. As RoyB said any non-vented catalytic heater is going to require you leave a vent open to prevent CO poisoning and buildup of water vapor.
Even with the Platnumcat heater you have to leave a window cracked. It has a fan that sucks air and exhausts it outside of your rig.
Emissions are CO2 not CO.
There is no CO emissions from a Wave3 or 6 heater. Those of us that use Wave heaters have been comfy and still alive after YEARS of use.
The great thing about the Wave or Platinumcat heater is you can leave the door open and still keep the inside of the rig warm to a point. It is Radiant heat like a fire place!
If using forced air furnace heat I have found that with the Dog and us breathing we have more moisture build up with the furnace than the Wave... Or if we use no heat and let the camper get down into the low 50's at night we will be dripping wet walls and windows, no heat.
Even my tent gets dripping wet inside with 3-4 humans breathing and no heat!
